“Perfection is a flaw”

We strive for this ideal. We push ourselves beyond all limits to attain this perceived “perfection”, yet disappoint ourselves, because it is unachievable.

We will never reach it, because it does not exist.

We are human beings. We have flaws; we make mistakes.

If perfection existed, we would be nothing more than robots—thoughtless, predictable, dull, humanoids.

Our flaws and imperfections make life worth living. They give us something to work towards and something to fight for.

If everything was perfect, if this ideal of “perfection” existed, everything would be boring and stagnant—every action expected.

If we were to be “perfect” at everything, there would be no challenge, no thrill, no risk, no struggle, nothing to learn from—and thus no point; nothing to motivate us.

Therefore, perfection not only does not exist, but any desire to attain it is a flaw of character in itself, because as human beings, we are meant to have imperfections.

We are meant to be imperfect.

These flaws are human. They are okay. We are okay.

We can rectify and learn from our flaws and mistakes.

We have that power.

Forever and always.
